    LAGERSTROEMIA

    These extremely decorative and easy tall shrubs, require full sun and are best against a south facing wall. They have attractive bark and long panicles of flowers with good autumn colour as an added bonus. AUG-SEPT

    Genus of about 50 species of deciduous or evergreen shrubs and trees. They occur in deciduous woodland, often near rivers, in warm-temperate and tropical regions from Asia to Australia.

    The flowers, which are attractive to insects, have characteristic crinkled petals.
