  • Herbaceous - Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch. - perennial. Linear to oval-lance-shaped leaves in basal tufts and, alternately, on the stiff stems.Numerous, button-like flowerheads open from the top of the flower spike downwards.
  • Full sun
  • Additional Features - Good to know - - wildlife plant - bees are attracted to the flowerheads.
  • Pests & Diseases - slugs, snails and mice - they like the roots!
  • Place of origin - eastern and central northern USA.
  • Soil Conditions - Medium to light, fertile, well drained soil - - with moisture - liable to rotting in heavy soils in very wet winters.
