POLYGONATUM
Commonly known as Solomon's seal
Genus of about 60 species of rhizomatous perennials from woodland in temperate regions of Eurasia and North America.
The UK native is P. multiflorum, found locally in woods in England and Wales. Commonly found in gardens. A rarer species, P. odoratum is found in limestone woods in northwestern England and Wales.
