POTENTILLA
Commonly known as Buttercup shrub, Cinquefoil, Fivefinger
Best colour in dull weather conditions. All Flower JUN-OCT
Genus of about 330 species of shrubs, herbaceous perennials and a few annuals and biennials found throughout the northern hemisphere in habitats ranging from meadows to mountain screes.
10 or more natives including the rare native P. fruticosa, Shrubby Cinquefoil, other Cinquefoils, Silverweed and the four-petalled Tormentil.

Dwarf shrubTypically only grows to a maximum of one or two feet in height but there will be some exceptions.

HerbaceousEarly in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch.

Good to knowWildlife plant (single-flowered forms of native fruticosa) - insects. Grown for their usually 5-petalled saucer to cup-shaped flowers in shades of yellow, orange, pink or red, or white. Cultivars with orange, red or pink flowers tend to fade in very strong sunshine.Flowers are produced from spring to autumn.
