    CITHAREXYLUM

    Commonly known as Fiddlewood tree

    A genus of flowering shrubs and trees in the verbena family. Syn. C. spinosum, C. fruticosum.

    The common name, fiddlewood or zitherwood, refers to the use of the wood for the sounding boards of string instruments.
