    Dense, upright shrub with strongly arching branches. Produces flat flowers about 3cm (1¼in) across with an intense reddish blotch at the base of the petals. Usually produced singly, rarely in racemes of 3 at the ends of leafy twigs

    Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
