  • Deciduous - oval, pointed, toothed mid-green leaves 7-15cm (3-6in) long.
  • Shades of pink - All shades of pink through to Carmine (red) - in autumn
  • White - in summer
  • Height - 2.5m (8ft)
  • Spread - 2.5m (8ft)
  • Tall Shrub - large flowerheads 15-30cm (6-12in), held upright and well-distributed over the plant.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun - requires a sheltered site

  • Good to know - larger flowerheads are produced if previous season's shoots are cut back to within a few buds of the woody framework in spring. Feed magnesium to enhance the green.

    Suitable for: Deciduous and evergreen trees, and some deciduous shrubs.
    Pruning: Minimal pruning required. Prune wayward or crossing branches to maintain a healthy framework.
    When: When dormant in the late winter/early spring. Some in the summer/autumn to prevent bleeding of sap.
