  • Purple - Shades of purple/mauve/lilac/violet - red-purple eyes
  • Height - 15cm (6in)
  • Spread - 30cm (12in)
  • Herbaceous - Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch. - low-growing perennial. Purple stems and lance-shaped leaves 2-5cm (¾-2in) long
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)

  • Additional Features - Good to know - cross between the praire P. pilosa and the woodland P. divaricata (wild sweet William). Masses of flowers when happy and irresistible to butterflies, but short-lived. Good air circulation around plants will combat mildew.
