Small and compact tree with dark green leaves which are paler beneath. Used as a windbreak at Caerhays

  • Evergreen - bamboo-like foliage to 12cm (5in) long, reddish when young.

  • Tree - smooth, dark-grey bark. Solitary acorns in distinctively ringed cups.
