A new book tracing the first introductions of Magnolia species into the UK over 100 years ago and the subsequent breeding programme that have resulted in the ever growing popularity of Magnolias was published late last month. It is a largely pictorial 480 page book celebrating the 100 or so species and the 750 different cultivars and hybrids in the National Collection of Mag nolias growing at Caerhays today.

It is the first Magnolia book to include species and cultivars of what were previously known as Michelia and Manglietia but have been renamed as Magnolia.

A book to tempt and encourage enthusiasts who want to learn more as well as being the first Magnolia book to use drone photography to do justice to the true splendour of Magnolia trees.
