Commonly known as Armenian oak, Pontine oak

    Obovate or broadly elliptic mid-green leaves to 25cm (10in) long with parallel veins ending in small, pointed teeth turn yellowish brown in autumn

    Shrubby tree. Shallowly fissured, pale grey-brown bark and stout, reddish shoots. Ovoid acorns are produced singly or in stout-stalked clusters
  • Hardy - very cold winter
    Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
