Jaimie Parsons, our Head Gardener at Caerhays Castle has been creating Magnolia hybrids for many years, but this week sees the first flowers ever produced on one of his hybrids.  It opened its flowers on the 13th March 2012.

This particular hybrid was one of three he made ten years ago.

The Magnolias are as yet unamed, but Jaimie is delighted that one of them has come into flower.  It can take years for a Magnolia to flower for the first time so it's an exciting event for him.
