Cornwall may not have had as severe a winter as other parts of the UK but we have had an unusually long cold spell and are still having nightly frosts in March.

At the moment we are potting on our rhododendron cuttings and checking for any signs of pests such as scale insects which become active in a greenhouse environment now.

We are keeping an eye on our Camellia benches which are now full up – pinching out new growth to encourage roots and keep aphids under control.
