    PODOCARPUS

    Commonly known as Chilean yew, Plum yew

    Genus of about 100 species of dioecious, occasionally monoecious, evergreen, coniferous trees and shrubs from forests, mainly in warm-temperate to tropical zones.

      Linear, soft, dull bluish-green leaves 2-3cm (¾-1¼in) long.

      Small, oval male cones to 2.5cm (1 in) are produced in racemes of 5-20 at various times in the year.

      Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
