  • Deciduous - glossy dark green leaves to 15cm (6in) long, elliptic in shape with deep lobes, ending in bristle-tipped teeth.
  • Height - 20m (66ft)

  • Tree - pale, grey-brown bark in scaly plates. Acorns ovoid to almost spherical.
  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
