The Australia and New Zealand garden

The Australia and New Zealand garden
For those who wish for a taste of ‘Down Under’ there are actually a remarkable number of plants from Australia and New Zealand which thrive in British Gardens. For some time they have been treated with some suspicion as ‘borderline’ or ‘tender’ plants not worth the risk. However, with the onset of climate change and a series of milder winters, this has been proved to be a fallacy.

Garden designers can now point to a whole host of alternative plants which will succeed and thrive although some of those listed below are still relatively unknown native plants from New Zealand and Southern Australia.

Branch out on a new design theme and try something new. Some of the evergreen trees and shrubs are stunning.
