      Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height
      Rounded shrub of cascading nature when mature with reddish purple young shoots and light-brown, flaking older bark. Flowers are carried on inflorescences 15-30cm (6-12in) long when fully expanded. Mint-like, whiskery flowers appear from densely downy grey-white bracts.
    • Pruning group 3
      Suitable for: Deciduous shrubs that flower in the Summer or Autumn on previous year's growth, or deciduous shrubs that flower in late Winter-Spring on previous year's growth.
      Pruning: Trim off old flowers to the first bud beneath flower head. Cut back 1/3 of the oldest stems to promote replacement growth.
      When: Annually

      Suitable for: Deciduous trees and shrubs that flower on current year's growth or are grown for winter stem effect.
      Pruning: Hard prune to a low permanent framework.
      When: Annually in early Spring.

      Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
