sasanqua - Camellia sasanqua (Christmas Camellia) is a species of Camellia
Half hardy - unheated greenhouse / mild winter - Hardy in coastal and relatively mild parts of the UK except in severe winters and a risk from sudden (early) frosts. May be hardy elsewhere with wall shelter or good micro-climate. Likely to be damaged or killed in cold winters. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -5°C (23°F)
Height - to 6m (20ft)
Spread - to 3m (10ft)
Evergreen - oblong to broadly elliptic leaves to 8cm (3in) long, dark green above, paler beneath.
Tall Shrub - strong-growing upright to spreading shrub. Produces flowers to 7cm (3in) across.
Full Sun - when established. Keep roots cool and moist.
Fertile moist well-drained soil
Neutral to acid soil
Flower Shape - Single - Row of petals round conspicuous stamens - no more than 8 petals
