      Neither lily nor Cornish, this frilly subject was named in 1904 after Athelstan Hall Cornish-Bowden (1871-1942)

      Robust, bulbous perennial with broad, strap-shaped leaves to 30cm (12in) long. Produces open umbels of up to 7 or more funnel-shaped flowers to 8cm (3in) across with recurved, wavy-margined tepals.

      Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
