Genus of 6 species of aromatic, deciduous shrubs and perennials from various habitats in the Himalayas and mountains of eastern Asia.
The very popular clandonensis cultivars originated in the garden of Arthur Simmonds at Clandon, Surrey, as the result of an accidental cross.
