      Dense shrub with arching branches. Flowers in numerous, rounded lateral and terminal cymes to 3cm (1¼in) across emerge from reddish-purple buds.

      Suitable for: Evergreen shrubs that require minimal pruning.
      Action: Trim or lightly cut back shoots that spoil symmetry. Deadhead regularly.
      When: Annually after flowering.
