  • Deciduous - wrinkled, leaves composed of 7-9, narrowly oblong leaflets 2.5-5cm (1-2in) long sometimes turning yellow in autumnn
  • Shades of pink - All shades of pink through to Carmine (red) - magenta-pink with pale yellow stamens
  • Height - 2m (6½ft)
  • Spread - 1.2m (4ft)
  • Hedge - Ideal for hedging
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - vigorous, dense, Species rose with very prickly stems. Produces flowers singly or in small clusters followed by tomato-shaped red to orange-red hips
  • Very hardy - Hardy in the severest continental climates including exposed upland locations in the UK. Plant can withstand temperatures < -20 (-4°F)
  • Full sun

  • Additional Features - Good to know - invasive. It is illegal to allow to grow in the wild. Introduced into UK by Robert Fortune, Scottish plant hunter, in 1848. Good wildlife plant. Healthy, hardy and good for hedging
