Commonly known as Mimosa
Wattles are from a genus of some 1450 species of deciduous and evergreen trees, shrubs and climbers from Central and South America, Australia, Kenya and southern Africa, Polynesia.
Leaves are often reduced and flattened in the form of phyllodes and flowers, some sweetly scented, have minute petals appearing as fluffy pompoms.
Generally fast-growing and can be grown in borders in frost-free areas or against warm walls or in cool greenhouses in more challenging climates.
