    GUNNERA

    Generally extremely large plants excellent as architectural specimens, particularly near water.

    Can become invasive.

    Genus of about 45 species of summer-flowering, rhizomatous, herbaceous or evergreen perennials from moist areas in southern Africa, Australasia and South America.

      Sizes vary from dwarf to gigantic. Large forms are excellent architectural plants. named by Linnaeus after Norwegian Bishop Johan Ernst Gunnerus.

      Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch.
