Commonly known as Pineapple guava

Grey foliage, with handsome wine-red edible flowers and fruit. Will grow outside in milder climates

  • Evergreen - elliptic-oblong leaves to 7cm (3in) long, white-woolly beneath.
  • Red
  • Striped, Veined or Multicoloured
  • Height - 2m (6½ft)
  • Spread - 2.5m (8ft)
  • Fruit - Plants which produce an edible or ornamental fruit
  • Tall Shrub - bushy shrub. Produces flowers with long, red stamens, followed in warm climates by ovoid, red-tinged, green berries 5cm (2in) long.
  • Zero Rated Item - No VAT on this plant
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
