  • Deciduous - oval, elliptic or lance-shaped, toothed, glossy, dark-green leaves to 10cm (4in) long, turn orange and red in autumn.
  • White
  • Height - to 25m (82ft)
  • Spread - 8m (26ft)
  • Tree - or shrub with peeling, grey and red-brown bark. Produces flowers 4cm (1½in) across, singly or in pairs, along the shoots.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun - shelter from strong winds.
  • Partial shade - dappled shade.

  • Pests & Diseases - trouble free
  • Place of origin - Korea, southern Japan.
  • Resistant to honey fungus - These plants have little or few problems with honey fungus.
