  • Deciduous - 3- or 5-lobed, shallow-toothed, glossy basal leaves 5-20cm (2-8in) long
  • Shades of pink - All shades of pink through to Carmine (red) - with paler pink centres and darker veins
  • Striped, Veined or Multicoloured - veined
  • Height - 30-50cm (12-20in)
  • Spread - 50cm (20in)
  • Bulb/Corm or rhizomatous perennial - rhizomatous perennial with red-tinted stems swollen above the nodes. Produces loose cymes of erect, open funnel-shaped flowers 2.5-3cm (1-1¼in) across, with notched petals
  • Ground cover - These plants are typically low growing and spread quickly to inhibit weed growth on areas of bare soil
  • Herbaceous - Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
