I just wanted to say how pleased I am to have got the Podocarpus salignus yesterday. I feel a bit like a child with a Christmas present! Also thank you to David for pointing out all the plants are from Chile; it had not occurred to me, and is very interesting. Maybe that is where I should look for plants for the damp areas of my garden. Many thanks.

Incidentally, Feijoa sellowiana is always said to be only half hardy but mine has been growing outside in Essex ever since and is now fifteen feet tall and fruits beautifully each year. Just to let you know I received my Olearia today. We live in the Orkney Islands in the far north of Scotland and when I placed my order I thought I was taking a big gamble and just hoped the plant would be okay after its long journey. I should not have worried; it looks as fresh as can be as if it had been freshly planted for me. Thanks must obviously go to the gardeners for growing such strong plants but also to the packers who made sure it was happy and comfortable for its long, dark journey north.
